Staring at blank piece of paper is hell to most artists. I know it is for me. I have found many young artists always asking me “Where do you get your ideas?” Which is a tough question. I get my ideas from everywhere. From everything I experience and see in my day to day life. I get ideas from TV, Surfing the web, Movies, Music, People around me, Pop Culture and tons of other places. The trick is to keep a sketchbook. EVERY artist should keep a sketchbook their entire lives! It’s a place to jot down ideas, jokes, sketches, characters, locations, situations, one liners, doodles, poems, ANYTHING you find interesting.
Your sketchbook should be a PRIVATE repository of your raw ideas. A place you can refer to when you are out of ideas. Trust me. By keeping a good sketchbook you will always have a place to go in an emergency. You can’t be expected to remember everything so a sketchbook is the way to go. Carry it with you wherever you go and go nuts! Fill up book after book and you’ll find you are never going to “run out of ideas.”
So those of you that haven’t started a sketchbook, start one today and try to draw or write in it at least once a day. Trust me this will help you!

Trina Robbins by Grasiela Rodriguez.
Hello Minion Master, I was just wondering why there are no women inducted into the Pantheon of Awesomeness???? With that said, I nominate my hero Trina Robbins, Herstorian and writer, she has been writing graphic novels, comics and books for over thirty years. From “Wonder Woman” and the “Powerpuff Girls” to her own teenage super-heroine,” GoGirl”!, and from women cartoonists and super-heroines to women who kill! Yes Women who kill!
