  7. Raul, you’ve smoothly glided over into position as the Larry King of cartoon interviews! Really enjoyed hearing you and Mr. James Lujan talk shop. MAN VS. ART continues to provide great content at the best possible price!

    • Awe shucks Jav! I’m like blushing over here. Thanks, you provided me with the inspiration. I had so much fun on your show, I couldn’t resist!

    • thanks Jav! I’m really trying to do original stuff that will help preserve cartooning and inspire youngsters to study the masters. You know Ditho, Kirby, and Hernandez!

  8. The difference between the Spider-Man sculpt and the drawing it’s based on is that, the sculpt has muscles on it that truly exist and it actually works in three dimensions.

    • Very good observation! Imagine the pain in the neck it must have been for the sculptor to make this work! I bet he said something like”Well, I did the best I could with what I was given to work with.”

  9. LhlML4 I bookmarked this link. Thank you for good job!

  10. I’m not sure if it would be wrong to give people info on how to get Andrew Loomis books online since they’re all out of print and therefore you’re not really stealing any money from any publishers.

  11. Nice…see u…Really u r gr8 artist

  12. Oh man…you did not pull punches on the Chuck Jones stuff. thats what we want, man! Your honest opinion. The stuff about the animator clique was great too.

Hey- How about a dedicacted companion episode to the Sparrow? You know- telling us more of the backstory and talking about some of your influences for your comic. Almost like an audio DVD special feature?

    Keep up the good work!

  13. Love the show. Made me laugh as always. Keep them coming.

I second the companion episode idea.

I also agree with you about the personal aspect of comics. Wish it was easier to make a living off them. Still, this is the first time in history that artists don’t have to rely on publishers to put out printed work which means it’s still possible to do so.

    • Hey cool! Laughs is what I want! After all we are in the cartoon business right? It’s not rocket science! I mean it’s just as difficult and involved only It’s funnier!

  14. Great narrated piece! Got chills at the end there when you listed her various names…. You’re the Tom Hatten of Mexican myths!!

    • Thanks! It was quite a bit of work researching it to make sure I got names right etc, but yeah! I got the chills saying the names! This means I totally connected with you on an emotional level! That’s exactly what I wanted! Yahooooo! mission accomplished! I may do more of these!.

  15. Awesome! She’s also folklore in my country but I didn’t know the history behind her, all I knew was that when I went camping with my family when I was younger, they told a La LLorana story and it scared the CRAP out of me.

Now I know why people liked this so much on Youtube.
